I focus on food science and basic knowledge so people can truly understand recipes, rather than simply follow them. I’ll help you expand your culinary knowledge, and gain confidence in the kitchen with my cooking classes!
2019 Class ScheduleCOOKING BASICS: VEGETABLE PREP & KNIFE SKILLS – Sunday, January 20, 2-4pm
Gain confidence in your knife-slinging skills in this hands-on class. We’ll cover everything from selecting the right knife to making various knife cuts and time-saving tips for preparing different kinds of vegetables. You’ll also learn how to care for and sharpen your knife. Snack and hand-outs provided. $55 ENTERTAINING MADE EASY – Sunday, January 27, 2-4pm
Having guests over is fun, but it can also be exhausting! This class is all about simplifying your role as a host, so you can enjoy your own party. We’ll cover the basics of hosting a party, as well as several simple recipes to impress your guests with a beautiful spread. Bonus hand-out: 7 Superbowl-Ready Recipes! $45 COOKING BASICS: SOUPS, STOCKS, & STEWS – Sunday, Feb 10, 2-4pm
In this class you’ll learn all the basics of creating delicious and healthy stocks, soups, and stews. We’ll make (and sample!) hearty kale and tomato soup, sweet corn & red pepper chowder, and chicken curry stew. You will also receive informational handouts and the recipes to make your own at home. $55 EATING HEALTHY FOR THE WEEK – Sunday, February 24, 2-4pm
The secret to eating well, is planning to eat well! In this class you will learn several methods for preparing certain foods, to create an arsenal of ready-to-heat dinner components. We’ll cover basic vegetable prep, simple methods for cooking grains, protein, and vegetables, and some simple, no-cook sauce recipes. There will be lots to sample, informational hand-outs, and recipes to take home. $55 EASY CONTEMPORARY SAUCES – Sunday, March 10, 2-4pm
Are you looking to add some new flavors to your weekly dinner routine? In this class we’ll make several easy, healthy, and versatile sauces to use as salad dressings, main entree sauces, stew bases, and skillet dishes. There will be lots to taste and recipes to bring home. $45 COOKING BASICS: GRILLING, FRYING, SAUTEING – Sunday, March 24, 2-4pm
In this class, you’ll discover the science behind these different cooking methods so that you can confidently prepare just about any cut of meat or vegetable on your stove top or grill. There will also be lots of samples, recipes, and informational hand-outs. $55

Does your company have a wellness program or host a health fair? We offer group lessons and cooking demonstrations for simple, healthy recipes, and tips for eating better at home and on-the-go.
Let your guests put together their own party food, guided by Chef Abby. She will come to your home with all of the necessary ingredients, recipes, and tips, allowing everyone to create a delicious party spread to enjoy for the rest of the evening.
