This is a great recipe to dress up a holiday table with some festive colors. It takes only minutes to put together, and you can do it ahead of time– perfect for this busy holiday season! Yes, it is a cheese log; but it’s a delicious twist on a traditional favorite. Enjoy!

Festive Fruit & Nut Cheese Log


-1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, room temperature

-1 cup Chèvre Cheese (Grated Fontina or Blue cheese would also work)

-1 cup of mixed nuts, toasted and chopped (pistachios, almonds, pecans, macadamias, and walnuts are all great)

-1 cup mixed dried fruit, chopped (cranberries, raisins, apricots, or currants)

-1 T honey

-Fresh rosemary and thyme, for garnish

-Crackers, for serving


In a medium bowl, using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and chèvre (or other cheese) together. Cover and refrigerate until slightly firm, 1 to 2 hours.
Meanwhile, in a 9×12 casserole dish, combine chopped nuts and fruit with a teaspoon of chopped fresh rosemary and thyme.

Transfer cheese mixture to a piece of waxed paper or plastic wrap. Using paper/wrap, shape and roll the cheese into a 6″ long log. Place unwrapped cheese log on to the nut and fruit mixture, pressing to adhere. Save any extra loose topping to garnish the serving platter.

Wrap the cheese log in a fresh piece of waxed paper, or plastic; chill until firm, 1 to 2 hours (or up to 1 day). Serve on a platter with a drizzle of honey over the top, fresh chopped herb garnish, and crackers.
