I love this recipe for the holidays because it’s such a beautiful addition to any table, delicious with wine, easy to make, and it can be prepared a day in advance. Serve with whole grain crackers or toasted bread.


-1 bar (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened

-1 cup Chèvre Cheese

-3/4 cup of mixed nuts, toasted and chopped (I like pistachios, almonds, pecans, and walnuts)

-3/4 cup mixed dried fruit, chopped (cranberries, dates, raisins, apricots, and currants are all great)

-1 T Honey

-1 tsp chopped fresh rosemary and thyme, for garnish


1) In a medium bowl, using an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and chèvre (or other cheese) together. Cover and refrigerate until slightly firm, about an hour.

2) Meanwhile, in a 9×12 pan, combine chopped nuts and fruit with a teaspoon of chopped fresh rosemary and thyme.

3) Using a spatula, transfer cheese mixture to a piece of waxed paper and smooth into a log shape. Using paper, shape/roll into a 6″ long log. Place unwrapped cheese log on nut and fruit mixture, pressing to adhere. Wrap log in a fresh piece of waxed paper; chill until firm, 1 to 2 hours (or up to 1 day). Serve on a platter with a drizzle of honey over the top, and more fresh herbs as garnish. Serves 10.
