The stress of the holidays between Thanksgiving Day and New Year’s Day can put a lot of pressure on most folks. Whether you are hosting Thanksgiving Day at your own home, or rearranging schedules to accommodate multiple family celebrations, the months of November and December can come and go much faster than you would ever expect.
Over the last several years, we’ve noticed a growing trend amongst many of our catering clients – holiday parties are being held in the months following the traditional “holiday season.” Here are a few different reasons why so many people are pushing back the dates to celebrate, and why it might be even more practical than you might think!
Most companies begin the year with a new budget and forecast for the year. Additionally, at the beginning of the year, expenses are lower with post-holiday sales, and you can provide more in the way of gifts or decor after the rush of the holidays has subsided.
Event venues can be hard to come by during the holiday, as they are in high demand. Additionally, many event venues charge a higher rate during the holiday season. You can avoid scrambling for venues and inflated rental rates by postponing your event until January or February, when more venue space is available and rates have dropped. Another pro-tip: have your event on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday evening – Thursday/Friday and weekend rates will always be higher.
- Ease the Stress:
Most people find that they have overcommitted themselves during the holiday season, between staying busy at work, making time for family celebrations, entertaining friends, buying gifts, decorating the house – so on and so forth. Delaying the company holiday party to a time where there are fewer obligations allows employees to feel more at ease during the busy time, and gives them something to look forward to at the start of the new year, when we all might be feeling the grind of these long winter months.
At The Tomato Vine, as we move through our holiday season filled with company holiday parties and private celebrations, we encourage those who have not yet booked their holiday party to reach out and let us know how we can assist you. We offer a fantastic selection of entrees, appetizers, desserts, sides, salads, and more. We can also assist with venue recommendations, rentals, and overall party and event-planning.
